What's ON my food?

The Pesticide Action Network has proven that conventionally raised food contains a staggering amount of pesticide residues. Even more unsettling?  They've proven that residues can be present on some organically raised foods, too. Spinach, carrots and potatoes to name a few.  All the more reason to grow your own!

What's IN my food?

Store products labeled with the USDA Organic seal must be 95% organic to qualify for this status.  Hmmm.  So, what's the other 5%?  Read more about what organic food means.

Being Organic at the OCG

We practice organic gardening methods at the OCG.  No synthetic pesticides.  No synthetic herbicides. No synthetic fungicides. No synthetic fertilizers.  You get the idea, right?

But this doesn't mean you'll be growing a garden just to feed the bugs.  It means taking a different approach to controlling insects and diseases.  Working with nature to boost the beneficial qualities and fertility of your soil. Considering your health, the health of our environment and the health of future generations with the actions you take. What it really means, though, is your vegetables and fruits will be pure, healthy and delicious...even if they do have a few bug holes here and there.
