ABOUT THE OCG
The Clinton Township Organic Community Garden, or as members fondly call it, the OCG, was started in 2012 by a group of volunteers led by founder, Harmen Vos. We're situated on a picturesque parcel of township property once belonging to the White Cloud Orchid Farm neatly tucked away behind Bundt Park off of Red School House Road.
We garden 100% organically, always respecting our earth and ourselves.
It's peaceful here. Serene. You, your garden, the far off sounds of children playing in the park and the bucolic views which make Hunterdon County famous. A special place where gardeners, as unique as we are similar, come together and share our passion for growing.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Here's what our founder has to say about the inspiration behind starting the OCG:
"My name is Harmen Vos and before I became an American citizen, I grew up in Holland, where my father spent his whole life in the garden, mostly teaching children how to grow organic vegetables and to love nature and to have fun with it. To eat healthy directly from the land and to respect the earth will enhance our lives so much. It is survival in its purest meaning. Before my father died he asked me to create a community garden here in America and I am so happy we all together made it happen, especially for the children, now and in the future."
It's simple. It's true. It's our philosophy today and for all tomorrows to come.
